Looking for an Online Dietitian?
In addition to having multiple locations in Erie and Niagara Counties, AMS Nutrition Counseling can also provide nutrition counseling via telehealth. You can meet with your dietitian from the comfort and convenience of your own home, while still working with a dietitian who lives and works in your community.
Unlike working with a dietitian from a large, national telehealth company, we are familiar with your healthcare providers, community resources, grocery stores, gyms, restaurants, and, of course, Buffalo cuisine. No need to explain to us what a kimmelwick roll is!
How Does Nutrition Counseling via Telehealth Work?
Prior to your appointment, our staff will verify that your insurance plan covers our services via telehealth. You will get a text and e-mail with a link and code to log in with at the time of the appointment.
At your scheduled appointment time, simply use your computer, phone, or tablet to connect with your dietitian through our secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. Make sure your camera and microphone are ready to go!
You Can Do Both
Telehealth does not have to be all or nothing. Some of our patients choose to have some appointments in person and others via telehealth. We're happy to accommodate whichever option works best for you.
Telehealth can also be a convenient backup when life gets in the way, whether your car won't start, you're feeling under the weather, or the snowplow hasn't made it through yet.
Our Telehealth Policies
We love the convenience and flexibility of telehealth, but we do have some ground rules:

You must be in New York State at the time of the appointment. Our dietitians are licensed healthcare professionals and must abide by licensure laws. Our dietitians are only licensed in the state of New York, so you must be within state lines during the appointment.

For your safety, and so you can be fully focused on your appointment, you cannot operate a motor vehicle while meeting with your dietitian.
