Food Shopping at Farmers' Markets

June 27, 2017

Shopping at farmers markets is a fun way to shop local, get some sunshine and connect with the community. You are supporting your local farmers, and you get to enjoy some really fresh produce.

Don’t forget your cash at home! Having small bills and some quarters on hand will be much appreciated. Some stands (but not all!) may also accept SNAP EBT cards, WIC checks and Farmer’s Market Checks. In addition, some markets participate in the “Double Up Food Bucks” program. With this, you can get twice the value of your SNAP benefits!
